He’s allergic to bats – THAT must be it!  ;)

I don’t think she realizes how much skill is involved in picking locks…

Heh, me thinks Varony is in “gah, soon losing control over beast, get out of here before I accidentally eat you!!!-mode.

Quite a bummer for a lot of guessers if it turns out Varony and the beast-creature has nothing to do with each other, and V really just is claustrophobic :D.

IcyPheonix on April 27, 2012 @ 11:46 AM Reply

I’ve, actually been thinking that too.
The first thing that came to mind when I saw his ‘oh no! not now’ reaction to being chained was that he was going to turn into some giant beastie and he wanted out before he did something/they found out.

On the other hand he could just be severely claustrophobic and is having a panic attack over it.

And the authors are laughing their collective asses off reading our “know-it-all”-comments ;D.

Of course! What else are we posting this stuff for? XD

But seriously, it’s incredibly encouraging to see that you guys are invested enough in the story and characters to actively speculate and discuss it with each other, rather than saying, “Meh, I’ll find out when they reveal the answers in the comic anyway.” – not that there’s anything wrong with reading the story that way, too. As long as people are enjoying the story, it’s all good!

It’s interesting to see the variety of ways different people interpret things in the story, and what they notice and don’t – WE know what we’re intending to convey, of course, but sometimes it’s hard to tell how other people will read it. So reading the responses is pretty educational. :)

So thank you, and by all means, keep being know-it-alls! ;P I can’t wait to post more pages for everyone.

I love making predictions/theories as to what’ll happen next, be it in a webcomic or a piece of lit I’m reading (and surprisingly with the latter form, I’ve made guesses about something that’ll happen and it turns out to be right-dunno if that means I’m just that good, or the writing is that obvious though xD).

I generally go more ‘Ohh, I can’t wait to see where this goes/what happens next’ rather than ‘meh I’ll find out’

Shade Chase on May 4, 2012 @ 7:38 PM

I just turn into this “WAHAHA!!! evil mastermind predictions!” person who never actually gets it right.

~considers~ actually, sometimes I’m partly right. Not that sometimes happens too often. But still!

Cat-Kip looks like the cat thing that tried to eat Nashua.

…

Just… speculating.

FerreTrip on April 27, 2012 @ 2:04 PM Reply

Oh, poor Varony…

Also, that cat’s got its tongue, but not its tail…

Storms on May 1, 2012 @ 8:56 AM Reply

I was kind of wondering that about the cat’s tail as well, maybe its a Tamuran breed of tailless cat.

Over all AWESOME comic I’ve been watching it for some time now and this is my first time posting.

eren on May 1, 2012 @ 9:18 AM Reply

She’s a Manx cat – no real rhyme or reason to it, just the type she happened to prefer.

Nessa on April 27, 2012 @ 11:34 PM Reply

I don’t know, first a cute bat, then Kip pretty much just wearing a sheet. Varony needs help for sure! ;-)

I’m smiling so big right now, so. Very. Big.

Paint on April 29, 2012 @ 7:20 PM Reply

Varony, you need to chill man. She doesnt want to eat ur glasses, ergo, you don’t need to eat her (literally or theoretically counts)

Silverwolf on April 30, 2012 @ 9:19 AM Reply

And Kipernys goes out in search of cheezburger…

You know, I really hope this isn’t like the opening of “Rise of Nightmares,” where the first two characters…okay, I’m not going to say anything but it really doesn’t end well for them.

Carapace on May 1, 2012 @ 10:52 AM Reply

I don’t think she realizes how much Varony is TOTALLY FREAKING OUT..and only keeping himself in line with the mental discipline of Finding A Way To Escape.

I do like the feeling I get that Kip just hasn’t quite bonded with Nashua or Varony the way they’ve connected with each other- not because I don’t like Kip, but because it’s natural for relationships to develop at different rates. She hasn’t spent as much time with them, it makes sense there’s just little more reserve there…
How often can Kip change? Is it more or less unlimited, like a healthy person using stairs?

eren on May 1, 2012 @ 4:07 PM Reply

The stairs analogy is a pretty good one, from what I’ve been told – it takes Morphyx SOME effort to change, but not a whole lot, unless they’re trying to do it many times in succession. She can’t turn from one animal directly into another, though – she has to revert to Kip first.

And no, she really hasn’t bonded with them on any sort of deep level yet…

Guesticus on August 13, 2014 @ 12:21 AM Reply

Werewolves have always had a problem with bats, seeing how bats are the symbol of their sworn enemy, The Vampire!
