I didn’t think it was possible to make a snake look so expressive. That morphus is adorable.

I can’t quite tell- in the second panel, is the guard or the snake the one shivering?

Both, in a way. The morphus is getting vague flashes of how his companion is feeling via their connection. Maybe it’d work better without the “shiver” text there.

(actually, looking back at the original script, it was supposed to be the snake shivering in response to the shared flashes he’s getting, but I ended up going a slightly different direction with the paneling than what was described.)

@Calomel and Shio: Thanks. He can’t really MAKE facial expressions – snakes don’t even have eyelids – so I have to figure it out with mostly camera angles and body language.. and maybe some cheating with the lines here and there. Glad it’s working. :)
