Famous last words, Kip!
Like the explanation btw, neatly explains why they tuck someone who they know can just walk out of the cell together with her “associates”, with no guards and their stuff close by :). Kudos!
It always does, when someone says that.
Kip: “Can this day get any worse?”
Varony: “Hey look, it’s Ka Nuu…as a zombie?!”
Nash: “You just had to open your mouth, didn’t you, Kip?”
aw, man, why’d you have to go and spoil it? *frantically rewrites the rest of the chapter*
AUGH! HOLYCRAPOHMYFAGINHOAGIES. Kip… Her face. It frightens me so. :( (needless to say you draw awesome expressions.)
My friend says that my face looks like that when I’m royally pissed off… I said thank you.
Comments like that are to Mr. Murphy what laser designation is to smart weapons. A guaranteed way to ruin your day. When someone says things like that around me I duck and run away as stealthily as possibly. Hoping all along that my presence was not noticed.
She said it. Why did she have to say it…

Seemed like a good idea at the time! :D
Since this is screaming some trope, you must now have several things that could make things worse *almost* happen, but not quite.
Scare them, just so they know, they shouldn’t say things like that, but don’t satisfy the TV watchers who think that the Universe has just been commanded to be predictable.
hah, honestly I’m a little surprised at just how much attention that line has gotten, considering that it’s the sort of thing people say all the time in real life. I guess the overarching “meaning” is a little different when it comes in fiction. But then, in this case it also falls at the end of a page, which adds emphasis and for the readers is followed by a vast unknown until the next update. Hopefully once the chapter as a whole has been laid out it will read a little more naturally. There aren’t any huge on-cue explosions on the next page, don’t worry.
Tamuran, directed by Michael Bay.
Kip: “That bastard traitor morphus!”
Nash: “What does Lawrence Fishburne have to do with anything?”
Kip: “That’s MORPHEUS, you idiot!”
Varony: “Still recovering from the blood loss?”
